About Tucker
Get to know me!
I’m Tucker Haymond — not only a professional basketball player, but a husband, and father. Family has always been at the center of who I am, and the support of my wife and son fuels me every day on and off the court.
I was born in 1994 and raised in Seattle, Washington, a city with one of the richest basketball cultures in the world. From the time I picked up a basketball at age ten, I knew this game would be my life. From 10 years old I was blessed to be in the same gym daily with some of the best players to ever come out of Seattle — NBA athletes, elite college players, and future pros — which set the standard for the level of work and dedication I’ve carried with me ever since.
I grew up competing on the Nike EYBL circuit with Seattle Rotary AAU, traveling across the country to face the nation’s top talent. Playing at that level, alongside representing one of the most historic basketball programs in Washington, Garfield High School, was an incredible blessing. The experiences, lessons, and lifelong friendships I gained during those years not only shaped me as a player but also helped mold me into the man I am today.
I continued my journey at Western Michigan University, where I became a four-year contributor and leader. During my college career, I helped the Broncos capture a Mid-American Conference Championship and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. By the time I graduated, I ranked among the Top 8 all-time scorers in program history and collected numerous accolades, including All-MAC honors.
After college, I turned pro — winning an NBA G League Championship in 2018 with the Austin Spurs before taking my career overseas. I had the opportunity to play in Europe, making stops in Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and Germany, each experience shaping me as both a player and a person.
But it was in Japan where everything truly clicked. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home — drawn to the culture, the fans, the lifestyle, and the people. Japan has given me not only a career but a community that has embraced both me and my family. The respect, discipline, and passion for the game here align perfectly with the values I carry. Japan is where I see myself long term and where I want to raise my young family. Japan is truly a magical place and its a blessing to be able to live here and play the game I love.
Japan has given me so much, and my mission is to give back. Whether through basketball, community engagement, or mentoring the next generation, I want to repay the people and culture that have enriched my life and career in ways I never could have imagined.
